Dennis and Nan are grateful to have both grown up in Christian homes. Dennis grew up in Atlanta, Georgia as the son of a Baptist preacher and Nan grew up in Geneva, Alabama as the daughter of a Baptist deacon. Dennis is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Nan is a graduate of the University of Alabama.

Throughout 30 years of marriage, they have shared in ministry together, both in local church music for 12 years and now in a full-time writing career. They have two grown and married sons, Mark and Drew, who are also active in the arts. Dennis and Nan are members of Judson Baptist Church in Nashville, TN.

Since they began writing in the mid 1980's, they have published hundreds of projects for adults, youth and children...including single songs, musicals, collections, anthems and dramatic works. They have had the honor of being nominated for several GMA Dove Awards for their writing. In 2005 they won the award for Youth/Children's Musical of the Year for Fear Not Factor. and in 2008 they were again honored with Musical of the Year for Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone). They lead workshops and clinics across the nation, specializing in the areas of church music and drama. God has been so wonderfully faithful to them as a married couple, as parents, as ministers and as writers...and they gratefully give Him all the glory!
